I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to buy this dresser when I first saw it, but it’s solid wood bones finally sold me. And thank goodness as I love it!
After painting it cream and butter yellow, it still didn’t speak to me. I tried glazing the top drawers, then distressing them, but neither method dazzled me. Stripes! Finally I knew what I wanted to do with this dresser.
Just that week I had picked up a bag of drawer pulls at an estate sale, including these … they remind me of bow ties. Originally brass, I painted them oil rubbed bronze, which makes them pop off the dresser.
